God Bless Our Broken Road- 14th Anniversary

May 29, 2008

Hi Res version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvAlQ2hIaoc

I love my wife and miss her. Please pray for our family. Thanks!

I set out on a narrow way, many years ago
Hoping I would find true love, along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn’t see how every sign, pointed straight to you
Every long lost dream lead me to where you are
Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way, into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That lead me straight to you

I think about the years I spent, just passing through
I’d like to have the time I lost, and give it back to you

But you just smile and take my hand
You’ve been there you understand
It’s all part of a grander plan, that is coming true

Every long lost dream, lead me to where you are
Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way, into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God blessed the broken road
That lead me straight to you

Now I’m just rolling home
Into my lovers arms
This much I know, is true
That God blessed the broken road
That lead me straight to you
That God blessed the broken road
That lead me straight
to you

Imagine Me Without You

May 17, 2008

Imagine Me Without You

As long as stars shine down from heaven
And the rivers run into the sea
Til the end of time forever
You’re the only love I’ll need

In my life you’re all that matters
In my eyes the only truth I see
When my hopes and dreams have shattered
You’re the one that’s there for me

When I found you I was blessed
And I will never leave you, I need you

Chorus:
Imagine me without you
I’d be lost and so confused
I wouldn’t last a day, I’d be afraid
Without you there to see me through

Imagine me without you
Lord, you know it’s just impossible
Because of you, it’s all brand new
My life is now worthwhile
I can’t imagine me without you

When you caught me I was falling
You’re love lifted me back on my feet
It was like you heard me calling
And you rush to set me free

When I found you I was blessed
And I will never leave you, I need you

Chorus

When I found you I was blessed
And I will never leave you, I need you oh

Chorus

I can’t imagine me without you

Thirst For You

Cece Winans

Chorus)
We thirst for You
We search for You
In a dry and barren land
W're longing for Your hand
To guide us to
A place where You
Can cleanse us with Your rain...
Baptize us once again
We thirst for You

(Repeat Chorus)

(Bridge)
Oh Lord we are waiting
Let Your river flow
Come flood our hearts again
Quench our thirsty souls

(Repeat Chorus)

(Repeat Bridge)

(Repeat Chorus Out)

I ask for prayers for my family. Prayers of reconcilliation and a return of Joy. Thank You

MEN of GOD

May 6, 2008

Brothers,

Engrave this on the doorpost of your heart. For your sakes and that of your family listen to this song. Look a little closer <–Click (by registering on imeem you can hear the complete songs on this blog)

Romans 12

Living Sacrifices

1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. 2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

3For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. 4Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. 7If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; 8if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.

Love

9Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.

14Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.

17Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. 18If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”says the Lord. 20On the contrary:
   ”If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”21Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

I have this song playing in my head.

Havdalah

The Havdalah distingushes the miracle day of Shabbat from the ordinary rest of the week. In Hewbrew Havdalah means separation. Havdalah begins on Saturday at sundown as soon as 3 stars are seen. on a cloudy day I imagine you will wait until it gets dark.  You will need a braided candle, a Kiddush Cup wine or juice and a box filled with fragrant spices typically cloves, cinnamon or bay leaves. I know that it is very hard to find braided candles, Kiddush Cups, Challah Covers and spice boxes unless you go to a Judaica store. (more on this later)

The Kiddush cup is filled to the brim I like to have mine running over as the wine respresents joy and the Lord knows we need all we can get.  You dont have to do all or any of them. I do as many as I feel led as I am a bondservant who delights in the Lord.

Tell me I’m a fool,
Tell me that You love me for the fool I am,
[And*] comfort me like only You can,
And tell me there’s a place
Where I can feel Your breath
Like sweet caresses on my face again.- Jaci Velasquez “I will rest in You”  <–click me

The Kiddush cup is raised and the following prayers are said.

Hinay, El yishu’ati evtach velo efchad, ki azi vezimrat Yah, Adonai, va’yehi li lishu’a.
Behold, God is my savior, I will trust Him and not be afraid, for my strong faith and song of praise for God will be my salvation.
Isaiah 12:2

U’she’avtem ma’yim besason, mima’a'yenay ha’yeshu’a.
You will draw water joyously from the wellsprings of salvation.
Isaiah 12:3

La’Adonai ha’yeshu’a, al amcha virchatecha, Selah.
Salvation is the God’s; may Your blessing rest upon Your people, Selah.
Psalms 3:9

Adonai Tzeva’ot imanu, misgav lanu, Elohay Ya’akov, Selah.
God of the heavenly armies is with us; the Lord of Ya’akov is a fortress protecting us, Selah.
Psalms 46:12

Adonai Tzeva’ot, ashray adam botay’ach bach
God of the heavenly armies, happy is the individual who trusts You.
Psalms 84:13

Adonai hoshi’ah, hamelech ya’anaynu ve’yom kor’aynu.
God, redeem us! The King will answer us on the day we call Him.
Psalms 20:10

La’yehudim ha’yetah orah vesimcha vesason vikar,
The Jews had light, happiness, joy and honor;
Esther 8:16

kayn te’hi’yeh lanu.
may we have the same.

Kos yeshu’ot esa u’veshaym Adonai Ekra.
I will raise the cup of salvation and call out in the name of the God:
Psalms 116:13

Prayer over the wine. Proverbs 3:10 (I recommend reading all of Proberbs 3)

Just like the Shabbat wine blessing. Only you dont drink afterwards. That will come in the end.

Baruch atah, Adonai, Elohaynu melech ha’olam, boray pri hagafen.

Blessed are You, God, our Lord, King of the universe, Creator of the fruit of the vine.

Besamim, The smelling of the spices. I have read that the smelling of the spices represents many things from the releasing the the expanded soul that is given during shabbat to reviving us to be able to face another workweek. Theer are many references to the spices in the bible everything from the spices specified in Exodus 30 are instructions for the Sabbath which including brining an offering of spices. Our bodies which are the Lord’s tabernacle receive this spice offering (my revelation).  Prayer for the spices:

Barukh ata Adonai, Eloheinu Melekh ha-olam, bo oerei minei v’samim.
Blessed are You, Adonai our God, Ruler of the Universe, Creator of many kinds of spices.

The Candle represents the light of Shabbat and unlike the the 2 Shabbat candles the braided candle has 3 wicks. There are a myriad of representations but everything in Judaism is a type in shadow to our Messiah. Lighting the Havdalah candle’s 3 weeks recognizes the Father the Son and the Holy Ghost’s presence to go beofre us throughout the upcoming week. It is also said that the Lord ruduced Adam’s fear and gave Adam knowledge of tools and fire so that he could sustain himself after seeing the darkness approaching after leaving the garden of Eden. Our Orthodox Brothers beleive that the candle lighting is also the first work permitted on the Yom Khol (ordinary day)

The prayer that is recites at the lighting of the candle is:

Baruch ata Adonai Eloheynu Melekh Ha’olam boray me’oray ha’esh.
Blessed are you, Oh L-rd our G-d, King of the Universe who has created the light of the fire.

it is customary to look at the candle’s reflection in your palms and or fingernails. Some beleiev that this is to distingush the light from the darkness and also that the light should be used immidiately after lighting the candle.

Finally the final prayer of the Havdalah is:

Baruch ata Adonai Eloheynu Melekh Ha’olam, ha’mavdil, bayn kodesh le’chol, bayn or le’choshech, bayn Yisra’el la’amim, bayn yom ha’shevi’i le’sheshet yemay ha ma’aseh.
Blessed are you, Oh L-rd our G-d, King of the Universe who created a distinction between the holy and the profane, between the light and darkness, between Isra’el and the nations, between the seventh day and the rest of the week.

Baruch ata Adonai, ha’mavdil bayn kodesh le’chol.
Blessed are You, Oh L-rd our G-d who made a distinction between the sacred and the profane.

All  can now drink from the Kiddush Cup . There is a custom that some spill some of the wine into a saucer, and then to extinguish the candle by dipping it into the wine in the saucer. Some after leaving some wine in the Kiddush cup extinguish the candle by dipping it directly into it.

The following song is traditionaly sung:

Shavua tov, Shavua tov, Shavua tov, Shavua tov, Shavua tov, Shavua tov, Shavua tov, Shavua tov.
A good week, a week of peace, may gladness reign and joy increase.

Everyone wishes everyone else “Shavua Tov”

Now that we got the basics and fundamentals of Shabbat and Tzedakah down we’ll move on.. Again I will keep blogging my journey as a Messianic Gentile.

Numbers 6:24-26 The Aaronic Benediction as it was given to Moses. My prayer is that you will be blessed as you read and recite these words. “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.

Shabbat Cont..

April 17, 2008

Ok, You have the table setup, the house is fairly clean everyone is happy and there is goodwill toward all men. Lets get real.. Everything is going to attempt to assert itself from you doing this. The guy we just made mention of is going to do what he can to see that it doesn’t happen. Believe me my family has had to press on to make Shabbat happen. We have had Fridays where if it wasn’t someone pulling everyone else up then we wouldn’t do it. In the past we wanted to get closer to God and we began to seek him by doing communion every night. We went for about 2 weeks and then we skipped one night then another and so forth till we didnt do it anymore and we went back to our old routine. Shabbat is different as it is not a ritual, but a celebration. We are observing the Sabbath and keeping it holy. Earlier I sent you to the store to get the vaious elements of Shabbat. What I failed to mention is that everyone has a favorite food/drink. For some odd reason I like peach tea on Shabbat and no other time. So I buy peach tea for me.  My son likes IBC root beer. My wife likes regular tea or Sprite so I buy both since neither will go to waste in my house. The foods we usually have picked something that everyone likes and cooked ahead of time as nobody likes to wait for something to be cooked after finishing the final element of Shabbat.

Whew.. “Take it away..You got it”- Johnny Canales

Tzedakah

The first thing you should do is Tzedakah.  Happy are those who consider the poor. My family has a Tzedakah box which we take a little money aside for the expressed purpose of giving to the needy. Someone that is in need of a hand. There are teachings that explain the levels of Tzedakah. This is what I found online and it makes perfect sense. My family also praises God for allowing us to have Tzedakah in order to be a blessing to someone. All giving is blessed but not equally. Reference guidelines below.

  1. Enabling the recipient to become self-reliant
  2. Giving when neither party knows the other’s identity
  3. Giving when you know the recipient’s identity, but the recipient doesn’t know your identity
  4. Giving when you do not know the recipient’s identity, but the recipient knows your identity
  5. Giving before being asked
  6. Giving after being asked
  7. Giving less that you should, but giving it cheerfully.
  8. Giving Begrudgingly

Incidentally our church has a Tzedakah box which our pastor hasn’t done the teaching on it and yet it always has something in it. Those families who have given have been getting woderfully blessed. I cant wait for the teaching so that the congregation can walk in a state of blessings!!

Next my beautiful Wife lights the 2 candles.  She lights the right one first then the left. She’ll fan in front of her eyes 3 times and cover them. She will recite the following prayer:

Baruch atta Adonai eloheinu melech ha-olam asher kideshanu bemitzmotav ve-tsivanu l’hadlik ner shel Shabbat.- Blessed are you Lord God king of the universe, who sanctified us with his commandments, and commanded us to light the Sabbath candles. She will then say a prayer and it is an importantant one. She will ask for the Lord to release the Miracle Sabbath angels and work on our behalf. She will direct them to work in all aspects in our lives and our friends and loved ones.

I like to tell people that we have a Texan accent to our Hebrew. I try not to butcher the words but when you have never heard Hewbrew before its really hard.

I will then move over to my Beautiful Wife hold her hand look into her eyes as I read from Proverbs 31:10-31. I will say a prayer for her and speak a blessing into her. She is a wonderful woman of God!! (flowers-Hint)

We have a son so we’ll move on to bless him. Genesis 48:20 As the father I will speak a secret in his ear for only him to hear. Ill tell him a loving statement like what a wonderful, kind son he is.  What a great child of God. Something really positive that we ourselves would like to hear from our spriritual father. Il will then read the Aaronic Benedition to him and the other children present as his friends almost alway invite themselves to Shabbat.

“The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.”
Numbers 6:24-26

The girls have their own blessing as the woman of the house will read to them: May God make you like  Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel and Leah.

In a true Jewish Shabbat service there is oddly enough no element for the man. My wife came up with her own she holds me and prays for me. Its really nice!! :) (flowers)

We then move to handwashing. Remember that bowl of water and hand towel? I recite as I dip my hands starting with the right hand: Baruch atta Adonai Eloheynu melech ha-olam asher kid-shanu b’mitzvotav v’tzee’vanu al ne’teelat yadaim. - Blessed are You, Lord, our God King of the Universe, whose Presence fills the universe, who has sactified our lives through Your commandments and commanded us to perform this washing of the hands.

We sing a song as the other family members wash their hands..”No limits and no boundries..I see Angels all around me.” We realy play it up..We feel that by washing our hands we remove the limits placed on our hands in this world.

KIDDUSH! My family loves when I just jump up and say this word! it brings the level of excitement up a few notches. We hold our cups with the juice/wine up and I recite: Baruch atta Adonai, Eloheinu melech ha-olam, borei p’ri ha-gafen.
Blessed are You, Lord, our God King of the universe, whose Presence fills the universe, who creates the fruit of the vine. We take a big drink from our cups and we get rowdy!

Hamotzi:Here is where the Challah bread comes into play. The bread is salted to signal a new covenant and also because all offerings given at the temple were salted. The Son of Man was also lifted up and glorified. Take both loaves of Challah and lift them up. The following prayer is prayed out loud. Baruch ata Adonai elohaynu melech ha’olam hamotzi lechem min ha’aretz. Blessed are you Lord Our God, King of the universe who brings forth bread from the earth.

At this point Shabbat Begins and the festivities begin. Food is sevred and everyone celebrates!

I apologise for not having his out before last Shabbat. I have many attacks being levied against my family and I. Obviously the enemy does not want you to know what blessings come from fulfilling the 10 commandments by obeying the 4th commandment. I have an apostollic calling to reach out to the gentile Christian Church as a Christian to bring the revelation of what was stolen from us.  I seek prayers from both those of the Jewish faith Messianic or Orthodox and Gentiles. Please pray for my family and the peace of Jesusalem and all of Israel.  As we go into Passover..”Next year in Jerusalem!!” Shalom!

I will attempt to post the Havdalah today but if i am unable to this is a great resource of infomation.

Shabbat Shalom!

April 8, 2008

“Happy are those who do Shabbat” - me

4th commandment- Observe the Sabbath (Shabbat) and keep it Holy.

Man I thought I was following all the commandments..how do I do that??

The Lord in his perfect wisdom came up with Shabbat. It is a happy celebratory refreshing that was made for us. To renew our minds bless our families and spend time with one another leaving this world’s troubles behind and bask in the goodness of the Lord. I would recommend doing a wiki search on it as the background is vast on the origins and specifics on it. A wiki is good for the persona that isnt really a  bible scholar or someone that is new to discovering the revelation of their Jewish roots. After reading the Wiki I would recommend reading Exodus 20:11,Deuteronomy 5:15. Shabbat is the foundation that you must start and follow in order to start discovering your Jewish roots and the blessings that come with their discovery.

Ok, lets get to it..

Shabbat is observed on Friday at sundown. There are many elements that would be benefial to obtain on Wednesday or Thursday as I will get into toward the end of these teachings. I plan on having a rants and raves session later. I want you blessed sooner than later so Ill save that for later.

Fridays are my busiest day of the week. I beleive that the devil designed it that way to keep me from doing Shabbat. Have you noticed how much of a heavier rush hours traffic is on a Friday afternoon? I try to get away from th office around 3 but 4:30 or 5 is the best I have ever been able to do. Ill jump in the car and go straight to either Tom Thumb which has the better Challah bread or Albertsons which has good Challah bread. (Rant and Rave Item-Make Note)

challah

Always get 2 loaves as I have been told that by having 2 loaves of Challah bread then you get a double portion of blessing and revelation. The Challah bread is a type in shadow of Jesus. Jesus said “I am the Bread of life.” The bread is braided which is a type in shadow of the Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost. Mark 13:26,Luke 10:2, Exodus 3:6. Keep in mind that I am a normal guy. I wasnt brought up in the Church nor do I have any formal Bible training. The bread also symbolizes the manna which fell from heaven which sustained Israel in the desert. We can go on and on but we shall press ahead.

Other items you will need are 2 candles. From speaking with observant Jewish families the significance of the 2 candles are 1 to remember the Sabbath and 2 to keep it Holy. Exodus 20:8, Deteronomy 5:12. Go ahead and get the giant box of candles because you will need them. I will pray and expect that Shabbat will bless you and your family and it will be in place in your home forver until the return Of Yeshua HaMashia!

You will need a bottle of grape juice or wine. This isnt the forum for discussion on this just follow how the holy spirit or little voice inside your head tells you. Whatever your belief in this Yeshua is watching you. When in doubt the Kedem brand of juice is Kosher. (make note-more on this later)

A box of salt. On this i insist on the Morton Kosher Salt, I dont know if it is truely Kosher as I dont see a Kosher seal and there is a margarita recepie on the back. But It is easy to pour and the box looks cool.

While you’re at the store on a wednesday or thursday, hopefully you’re not like me, you would have bought something good for dinner. We like to eat Kosher on this night as we dont do Shabbat or any other Jewish root thing under the spirit of the law but as a bondservant who loves his master. I have been known to make Hebrew National Kosher Chilli dogs for the Shabbat meal. :) When doing Shabbat by myself (note..Hint hint. Just print the page at this point.) My wife on the other hand lovingly prepares something better for us. Or at least picks up some fajitas from Rosa’s Tortilla Factory. ?? Mexi-Jewish Holiday-Kosher your mind spinning yet?  Note to Men:…A nice flower arrangement will infinitely do wonders!!! Listen to the Holy Spirit on this one!

You will need some readily available items from your cupboard and knick knack shelf. (As you delight in the Lord you will want to upgrade to the real stuff but at this point the word from the Lord is “try me”.) You will need of course 2 candle holders. A cup for each of the paricipants, family members, Etc.  A small bowl for the salt, a small bowl for water. a small hand towel, a large napkin, a tray for the Challah Bread, A small box your Bible and an open heart.

Now that you have everything and its about an hour before sundown you will want to put on some fun Music May I suggest some Paul Wilbur - The Watchman is an excellent choice. This will set the mood. Everyone can particiapte in clearing the table, setting the candlsticks in their holders, pouring the salt in one of the bowls, pouring water in the other. Filling the cups with Wine or Juice. If done correctly it will look something like this:             The pics are from our teaching done at church that was hungry for this knowlege.

Shabbat tabletable 2

Note:(IMPORTANT NOTE TO MEN) notice the nice flowers??

Im beat typing. Ill continue on tomorrow now go gather the items listed now. We’ll catch up tomorrow.

Ok Ill leave you with this..

Earth from space @ night

The picture above is how I believe the lord sees the earth at night on Shabbat.

All the candles lit from all those who Love the Master as a loving bondservant.

The Lord rejoices when he looks down and sees another light turning on in a place that was once dark. This way the Miracle Sabbath angels have a Legal Beacon to come down and bless the humble obidient bondservant and his home. - Amen
